With the support of the NGO "Ukrainian-American Association of Higher Education Professionals," a lecture was held by Professor Jan van Zwieten, Rector of the Netherlands Business Academy, titled “Finance in the EU: What Will Be Different?”

Under the auspices of the NGO “Ukrainian-American Association of Higher Education Professionals,” as part of the preparations for the Second International Financial Forum “Modern Finance: Global Challenges and Current Trends,” an interactive lecture titled “Finance in the EU: What Will Be Different?” was delivered at the Western Ukrainian National University by Professor Jan van Zwieten, Rector of the Netherlands Business Academy.

The lecture began with remarks by Andriy Krysovaty, President of the Ukrainian-American Association of Higher Education Professionals, Doctor of Economics, and professor, who introduced the speaker, outlined his range of research interests, and emphasized that, thanks to cooperation with foreign partners, the academic community has a constant opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the functioning of financial systems in economically developed countries in the context of the transformation of the financial sector. Mr. Jan van Zwieten then expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak before a group of today’s leading theorists and practitioners and emphasized the need for continued close partnership with the international community.

Professor Jan van Zwieten began his lecture by emphasizing the debate among scholars in European countries regarding the nature of finance, its functions, and its role in society; he noted the problems in the functioning of electronic money, and stressed the need to highlight management’s oversight functions regarding the use of emotional intelligence as a factor in effective communication and the foundation for stress resilience among employees in the public and corporate sectors of the economy in the face of contemporary global challenges and threats.

At the conclusion of the interactive lecture, Professor Jan van Zwieten willingly answered topical questions, discussing the acceptable level of the shadow economy, existing corruption risks, and ways to mitigate them in the context of changes to Ukraine’s fiscal rules.
