Initially formed as a small group of professionals exchanging ideas, SIETAR has grown to become a dynamic international organisation with centres around the world. Its history is marked by a commitment to promoting intercultural understanding through innovative approaches to education, training and research. Through conferences, seminars and publications, SIETAR promotes the exchange of knowledge and the development of intercultural competence skills. The Society promotes cultural communication through initiatives such as intergroup dialogue sessions, cultural immersion experiences and virtual exchange programmes. By embracing diverse perspectives and fostering empathy, SIETAR is developing a more inclusive and interconnected global community, promoting mutual respect and cooperation across cultures.
