{"id":1824,"date":"2017-06-04T02:02:52","date_gmt":"2017-06-04T00:02:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/?p=1824"},"modified":"2017-06-04T02:02:52","modified_gmt":"2017-06-04T00:02:52","slug":"bukovel-spring-academic-school-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/?p=1824&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"\u00a0&quot;Bukovel Spring Academic School 2017&quot;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Olena Saitz \u2013 Vice President and Program Director of UAACE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0I would like to summarize the results of the third international educational and training program \u00a0\u00a0<strong>\u201cBukovel Spring Academic School 2017,\u201d<\/strong>  which took place  in the format of a creative and pedagogical workshop titled <strong>\u201cWorkshop on Post-Industrial <\/strong>Education\u201d from May 20 to 25 in Bukovel,Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On May 21<\/span><\/strong> <strong>(Sunday),<\/strong> the program\u2019s grand opening and first day of activities took place; Speakers included guests and representatives of Ukrainian and international educational programs: <strong><em>Oksana Desyatnyuk<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 TNEU, Doctor of Economics, member of the association\u2019s executive committee (Ternopil, Ukraine); <strong><em>Olena Saitz <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Vice President of the International Cultural and Educational Association (Chicago, USA), member of the Association\u2019s Executive Committee;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Todd<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>J.B. Blayone<\/em><\/strong>\u2014President of the educational consulting firm Vistas Canada Edu (Oshawa, Canada); <strong><em>Olav Aarna<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Vice Rector for Research and Development at the Estonian Business School, Ph.D., Doctor of Engineering, government advisor, and participant in projects related to education system reform and quality assurance in higher education (Tallinn, Estonia); <strong><em>Vik Arhus<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Torstein<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Senior Executive Administrator, Nord University Business School (Norway);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Oleg Kuklin<\/em><\/strong> is the director of the Cherkasy State Business College (Cherkasy, Ukraine).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>MART<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>KIKAS<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2014 <\/strong>mentor at the Estonian Business School, founder and CEO of the IT company Hanzaware Ltd. and the publishing company Wanderstories Ltd., a consultant to established companies and startups on business development and internationalization strategies, primarily in the Baltic and Eastern European regions (Helsinki, Finland)<strong>, conducted a two-hour training session<\/strong> <strong>on the topic of \u00a0&quot;Business<\/strong> <strong>Mentoring&quot;: <\/strong>&#8211; a new format for transferring experience and skills in the learning process;  &#8211; mentoring;   &#8211; a practical case study.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4388.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-352\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4388-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4388\" width=\"474\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4404.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-353\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4404.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4404\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1064\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4419.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-354\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4419.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4419\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1064\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On May 22<\/span><\/strong> (Monday) and <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">May 23<\/span><\/strong> (Tuesday), the program was led by <strong>Todd Blayon and Olena Mykhailenko<\/strong>, our Canadian partners.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tod Blayon,<\/strong> MA \u2014 a researcher at EILAB, UOIT, Canada; a specialist in digital educational technologies and the psychology of learning; an international educational consultant; and the owner of Vistas Canada Edu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olena Mykhailenko,<\/strong> Ph.D. in Economics \u2013 Associate Researcher at the Educational Informatics Laboratory (EILAB) at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Canada, and leader of the \u201cTransformative Online Learning in Ukraine\u201d project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Highlights of the presentations<\/strong> and training sessions held during these days: &#8211; Discussion: \u201cWhat Is Post-Industrial Education, and What Changes Are Needed at Universities?\u201d; &#8211; Training session: \u201cDefining Your Own GTCU Digital Competency Profile.\u201d &#8211; Presentation on problem-based learning (PBL). Group activities focused on self-identification; &#8211; The evening session on the first day (one hour) of online interaction with participants in the remote training <em>did not take place<\/em>. \u2013 Examination of cultural models and the influence of values on the development of individuals, organizations, and countries. Group activities based on Hofstede\u2019s and WVS models. Defining one\u2019s own value profile. <em>&#8211; <\/em>Training: \u201cPost-Industrial Thinking (critical thinking, pluralism, democratization of learning relationships, global digital learning)\u201d; &#8211; Group activities focused on solving problems related to enhancing the university\u2019s competitiveness; &#8211; An evening session (one hour) of online communication with distance learning participants took place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4408.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4408.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4408\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1064\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4422.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-356\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4422-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4422\" width=\"474\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4444.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-357\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4444-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4444\" width=\"474\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On May 24<\/span><\/strong> (Wednesday), the guest speakers gave their presentations:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mykhailo Zhuk<\/strong> \u2013 Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor, Chair of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Sumy University.<\/p>\n<p>The topic of the presentation is \u201cInnovation Culture as an Educational Trend of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">George<strong> Lupascu<\/strong> <strong>Pruna<\/strong> is a cross-cultural business consultant accredited by ITIM International\u2014The Hofstede Center. He holds a master\u2019s degree in corporate psychology and leadership and a bachelor\u2019s degree in industrial automation. Using Hofstede\u2019s 6D cultural model, George advises international companies and cross-cultural teams implementing projects around the world: in New York, Prague, Brussels, Kyiv, and Shanghai. Presentation topic: \u201cPractical Applications of Cultural Differences in Business\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On this day, there was also a discussion of prospects for cooperation, the development of joint projects, and grants, and breakout sessions were held. The text of the Manifesto was drafted and adopted by the participants of the international program \u201cBukovel Spring Academic School 2017.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A ceremony was held to present the international certificates.<\/p>\n<p>A tour program was offered to anyone interested.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4433.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-358\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4433.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4433\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1064\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4525.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-359\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4525.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4525\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1064\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4527.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uaace.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/DSC_4527.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_4527\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1064\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On May 25<\/span><\/strong> (Thursday), the program concluded, the participants\u2019 departure was organized, and final payments were settled with the host party in Bukovel. Executive Committee members Oksana Desyatnyuk and Roman Kulik did a great job, which helped minimize expenses, establish the necessary budget, and ensure that all payments were made on time.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes <\/strong>on conducting the program:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is worth noting the smooth coordination of the organizing committee; lessons learned from previous years were taken into account, and the entire event was organized successfully.;<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; It is impossible to overestimate the contribution of the faculty and staff of TNEU\u2014the setup of the venue, technical resources, the role of the organizers as the host institution, sponsorship support, and the organization of additional training on campus;<\/li>\n<li>A big thank you to the volunteers and active participants who have repeatedly attended our program in Bukovel;<\/li>\n<li>Significant financial support was provided by the sponsoring organization and event partner\u2014the International Cultural and Educational Association (ICEA);<\/li>\n<li>We have welcomed new members to the association from among the program participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0I personally highly commend the organization of the \u201cBukovel Spring Academic School 2017\u201d program and thank my colleagues for their cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>June 2017<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Olena Saitz \u2013 Vice President and Program Director of UAACE: \u00a0I would like to summarize the results of the third international educational and training program \u00a0\u00a0\u201cBukovel Spring Academic School 2017,\u201d which took place in the format of a creative and pedagogical workshop titled \u201cWorkshop on Post-Industrial Education\u201d from May 20 to 25 in Bukovel,Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
