STRATEGIC COOPERATION BETWEEN NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS OF EDUCATORS AND INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION STAFF: MEMBERSHIP, PARTICIPATION IN PROGRAMS, AREAS OF COOPERATION<\/b><\/strong><\/h4>\n

As global processes such as globalization and the development of information and communication technologies gain momentum, the issue of the international competitiveness of higher education has become a pressing concern for most countries around the world. The Ukrainian government has tasked the national higher education system with preparing graduates who possess the necessary competencies for innovative professional activity.<\/p>\n

European Integration Portal<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Equally important in this era of global socio-political tension is preparing students for life and successful careers in a multicultural society, a goal facilitated by cooperation between national professional organizations of educators and international associations of higher education professionals. Under these circumstances, one of the most important tasks for higher education institutions is the integration of international components into the educational process\u2014that is, its internationalization. Let\u2019s take a look at the main programs in which Ukrainian higher education institutions participate.<\/p>\n

\u201cErasmus+\u201d<\/b><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The \u201cErasmus+\u201d program builds on more than 25 years of European programs in the fields of education, vocational training, and youth, encompassing both intra-European and international cooperation. The Erasmus+ program is the result of the integration of the following European programs implemented by the Commission between 2007 and 2013: \u201cLifelong Learning,\u201d \u201cYouth in Action,\u201d \u201cErasmus Mundus,\u201d Tempus, Alfa, Edulink, cooperation programs with industrialized countries in the field of higher education, and others. The \u201cErasmus+\u201d program aims to go beyond the scope of these programs through interaction and mutual enrichment in various fields of education, training, and youth, breaking down artificial barriers between different areas of activity and project formats by introducing new ideas, involving new participants from the world of work and civil society, and fostering new forms of cooperation.<\/p>\n

International Mobility in the Context of the European Higher Education Area<\/ a><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>DAAD<\/b><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 For 14 years, Ukraine has been actively participating in the programs of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which facilitates the mobility of students, graduate students, and faculty members and provides talented young people from around the world with the opportunity to complete research internships or pursue professional development in Germany. Programs: traditional scholarship programs; the Viadrina University program; special programs; support for specialized German language courses; the lecturer program; short- and long-term visiting professorships (Kurzzeit- und Langzeitdozenturen); visiting lecturerships (Gastdozenturen); support for inter-university partnerships; support for partnerships between German studies institutes; support for English-language courses.<\/p>\n

Ternopil National Economic University offers international integrated programs that promote the internationalization of education, such as the English-language program in International Economics, the Ukrainian-Dutch faculty program, the Ukrainian-German faculty program, the Ukrainian-American program in Computer Science, the Ukrainian-Greek Master of Business Administration program, and the Ukrainian-Polish program.<\/p>\n

Students in the Ukrainian-German joint degree program in \u201cInternational Economics\u201d have the opportunity to study for one semester in Germany at the Technical University of Dresden at no cost. They receive a scholarship from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).<\/p>\n

The association\u2019s activities are based on the fundamental right of every individual to receive an education. The association\u2019s goals are to uphold universal cultural values and legal principles in the field of higher education, to establish a flexible legal framework governing relations between educational institutions worldwide, and to represent and defend the interests of universities on the global stage.<\/p>\n

The International Association of Universities is the largest forum of its kind, serving as a platform for regular discussions on the achievements, challenges, and prospects of higher education, as well as for the exchange of professional experience.
